Director Taro Yoko has recorded a special commercial for all of those interested in NieR: Automata. However unlike the regular commercials, this one does a good job at showing you how weird and fun Japanese game developers can be. Taro-San is joined by a fellow game developer from Platinum Games, Takahisa Taura. Taro-San (as always) is seen with his famed No.7 or Emil mask. As he proceeds to speak about the game, a sudden urge overtakes him.
He reveals that when you pre-order a copy of NieR: Automata it will come with an exclusive T-Shirt, perfect for the tickling hands of Taro-san. This video proves that nobody at Platinum Games is safe from his ticking talons. During the ending, you’ll see a very stylish Taro-San rolling on the floor with the joy of 1000 NieR: Automata t-shirt wearers. While rolling on the ground, the game director repeats the lines “Nier: Automata T-shirt!” And in the end? Square Enix!
The Japanese have always had a unique method for presenting their products in commercials. One take on this example is with the Wonder Core.
Hopefully, we can also purchase Taro-san’s mask somewhere down the line. Otherwise, you NieR: Automata can pre-order a copy at their local game stores. The game is set to release on October 10th, 2017. Be sure to pick up your cool T-shirt while supplies last.
