Resident Evil Revelations first came out for the 3DS on February 7th, 2012 in North America. The HD version of the game was released for PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PC on May 21st, 2013. Despite updated graphics and a new difficulty setting, the console versions of the game did not do as well with critics in comparison to the 3DS version, as the game did not translate very well from 3DS to console. Much of the 3D display was replaced by HD enhancements that did not impress fans, not to mention awkward dialogue and bad voice overs. It was a great game on the handheld but not so great on the big screen. Hopefully, they can resolve some of the awkwardness for the current generation release. It is still unclear as to what new features will be available for the re-release.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Resident Evil franchise, Revelations takes place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5. You play as recurring franchise character Jill Valentine as she searches for her partner, Chris Redfield, whose last known coordinates were on a ship in the Mediterranean.
Stay tuned for future updates as more information is revealed.
